Answers:
1. Palmetto Dunes Beach.
It might be hard to recognize Palmetto Dunes beach without the dunes, but this photo from 1972 was taken before the lagoon was dredged and its silt used to create the iconic beach dunes we see today.
2. George Fazio Golf Course
Water features are what make Fazio such a fun course to play. It also makes it a beautiful course, as evident with this photo, taken from the garden patio at one of our rental units in St. Andrew’s Common.
3. Doug Weaver on the Arthur Hills Driving Range
We’re not sure what’s more iconic in this image, the driving range at Arthur Hills, or our award-winning PGA Pro Golf Instructor, Doug Weaver. Alongside private lessons, Doug also leads a free golf exhibition every Monday at our Robert Trent Jones Course.
4. Hilton Head Outfitters
Biking has become synonymous with Palmetto Dunes, making the 3,000 bright red bikes for rent at Hilton Head Outfitters iconic indeed. Pick one up upon your arrival, or order in advance to have your bike waiting at your rental.
5. Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina
Despite all of its incredible restaurants and shops, one of the most incredible ways to enjoy Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina is to get out on the water! Whether by boat charter, kayak, or paddleboard, on your way out to explore Broad Creek you’ll be treated to this view.
6. Big Jim’s
The sunny patio of Big Jim’s is hard to mistake, just like their BBQ-inspired food is hard to forget! Whether it’s a family meal, a celebration, or a customary stop at “the 19th hole”, this restaurant is definitely a staple of life at Palmetto Dunes.
7. Barrington Court
You just can’t beat the beach views at Palmetto Dunes, and the oceanfront rental units at Barrington Court offer some of the best. Have you ever stayed at this luxury condo complex?
8. Pickleball Courts
Just because this activity is new to Palmetto Dunes, doesn’t mean it hasn’t already become an instant classic. Pickleball has become a hit! It’s so popular that we just expanded our courts. There are now 16 Pickleball courts for lessons, round robins, tournaments, and just plain fun.
9. Robert Trent Jones Course #10
Probably one of the most iconic golf holes on Hilton Head Island, we’d be remiss if we didn’t include the stunning beachside, par 5, tenth hole of the Robert Trent Jones Course.
10. Dunes House
Beautiful blackened fish tacos, sunshine, and a hint of dunes in the background…this could only be The Dunes House! This casual beachfront patio restaurant has been a favorite for years.
